On the day the sun met the moon, we bid farewell to a cherished soul, Austin Chauncey. Austin departed from this world on April 8, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and cherished memories.
Amelia county resident Austin Chauncey, 26, was born on June 19, 1997, and from a young age, he exhibited a zest for life, a love for sports and a contagious enthusiasm that endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Throughout his life, Austin touched the hearts of many with his unwavering generosity and selflessness. He had a remarkable ability to brighten the darkest of days with his infectious smile and uplifting presence. His genuine concern for others knew no bounds, and most recently, he dedicated himself to making a positive impact on the lives of those around him.
In addition to his boundless optimism and compassionate nature, Austin possessed a remarkable talent for bringing people together. His warmth and sincerity fostered deep and meaningful connections, and he cherished the friendships he formed throughout his life and absolutely loved his family!
Though Austin's time with us was far too brief, the light he brought into the world will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. As we mourn his passing, let us take comfort in the knowledge that his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created.
Austin is survived by his mother, Lisa Spangler and step-father, Shaun that always went the extra mile and saw him through all of his highs and lows, his dad Otis Chauncey, Jr., his siblings, Jordan Chauncey and Dallas Spangler whom he adored and loved with all that he had, his maternal grandparents Floyd and Martha Barden who meant the absolute world to him and his paternal grandparents Sandy Wilkie and Otis Chauncey.
A memorial service to celebrate Austin's life will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Love Covenant, 3:00 pm. All who wish to pay their respects and honor his memory are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Love Covenant in Austin's name, honoring his legacy of compassion and generosity.
Rest easy, dear Austin. Your light will continue to shine bright in our hearts, guiding us with love and inspiration for all eternity.
