Annie Ashman Merchant, age 91, of Amelia, passed from this life on March 19, 2010. She is survived by her son, Alton Dudley and wife Linda Merchant of Mississippi and brothers, Craig Ashman of Amelia, and Lewis Ashman of Chesterfield, sisters, Rachel Bowlin of Amelia and Lillie Mae Byrd of Richmond, grandchildren, Jonathan Dudley and wife Robin, Thomas Barry and Michael Alan, five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dudley Merchant and son David Wray Merchant. Funeral services will be held on Monday 11AM at Piedmont Baptist Church with burial following in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia from 6-8PM on Sunday.
