Our beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, and Grandmother, Barbara Jean Railey McCourt, 81, of Chesterfield, VA, went to be went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 14. She was born to James William Railey Sr. and Gladys Knighton Railey on May 14, 1942, in Covington, VA, where she graduated from Covington High School. Barbara is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and she has served in various volunteer & leadership capacities throughout the years, including when she served a two year mission for the Bishops storehouse with her husband Raymond.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her parents James and Gladys Railey and her brother Bill Railey. She is survived by her daughters- Leslie McCourt-Nussman, and Alisa McCourt Willis, grandchildren Samuel L. Nussman V, Alisa E. Nussman Stoddard, Jared R. Nussman, Jeffrey S. Willis, Jacob T. Nussman, Nathan A. Willis, Abigail E. Willis and Spencer E. Willis; and great grandchildren Jack R. Nussman, Eleanor G. Nussman, Samuel L. Nussman VI, and Henry S. Willis. Barbara was the most loving wife, mother and grandmother, and she impacted so many lives with her passionate way of living life, and will be remembered for her huge heart and sweet sense of humor. Her wonderful joy, and spirit will be celebrated:
Family and Friends Viewing will be held Tuesday, June 20, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 pm at Hillsman Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court Street Amelia ,Virginia
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 21, at 12 noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4601 North Bailey Bridge Rd., Midlothian, Va. 23112.
Interment to follow 2:00pm Virginia Veterans Cemetery 10300 Pridesville Road, Ameila Court House, VA 23002
