Barbara W. Childress, age 85 of Amelia, passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2022.  She is survived by her son Larry Childress (Debbie), grandchildren Dietra Tucker and Derrick Childress and numerous great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Dewitt and Arlene Whitlow. The family is thankful for Becky Ward, Chyna Smith, Carol Gibson, and Kim Daniel for the loving care provided in her last years.  The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 2, at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia.  A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Salem UMC Cemetery in Truxillo.
