Bruce Clifford Waycaster, age 79, of Hopewell, passed away on August 25, 2017.  He was a devoted servant of Jesus Christ.  He served his country for 23 years in the Navy, and also retired from Stone Container Corporation. He was married 60 years to his wonderful wife Rose who survives him.  He is also survived by his children Treasa Hamilton (husband Jeff) of Polkton, NC; Bruce David Waycaster of Cornelius, NC; Shirley Semlali of Prince George, VA and James Clifford Waycaster of Waverly, VA; brother Bennie Waycaster of MI; sisters Velida Dempsey of NC, Sue Jenkins of WV and Linda Hayden of MI; grandchildren Kristin Waycaster, Justin Pleasant, Derek Pleasant, Michael Ricks, James Waycaster Jr. (girlfriend Lisa Leatherwood, children Logan and Lacey); grandson Tech Sgt. Phillip Myers (wife Aimee) who was killed in action; Sean Myers (wife Krystle); Great grandchildren Alexus Stewart, Christopher Stewart, Cameron Stewart, Dakotah Myers, Caiden Myers and Riley Myers. There will be a viewing at Hillsman-Hix Funeral home 16409 Court Street in Amelia Virginia Tuesday August 29, 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Following will be the Funeral service at 12:00 noon also on Tuesday August 29, at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia.
