Obituary

Hawkins, Byron Temple, 58, of Moseley, VA departed this life unexpectedly on May 25,2025. He was born, raised, and lived his entire life in Skinquarter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miladeen Warren and Charles "Bones" Hawkins. Two nieces, Kennedy Taffer and Jordan Main; one nephew Brent Hawkins, grandparents Thelma and Demarcus Warren and Irene and James Hawkins. He is survived by one son, Brandon of Moseley and two daughters, Madison of Richmond and Layla of Spartanburg, SC; one sister Dale Smith of Amelia; two brothers, Richard (Janet) Hawkins of Midlothian and Ronnie (Zona) Hawkins of Jetersville; three uncles, Charles "Tom" Warren, James (Margaret) Warren, all of Amelia, and Paul "Butch" (Judy) Martin of Greensboro, NC; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends who loved to talk, laugh, and listen to the adventures of Uncle "B." He loved to hunt and fish with Brandon and his friends, and he was avid Mark Martin racing fan. He was a talented musician. His instrument was his voice, and he loved performing. Byron and his longtime friend and bassist, Kelly Tinsley, are already entertaining the Spirit in the Sky. Byron was employed by the Goode family at Chesterfield Berry Farm for many years, and we are grateful for the love and support they always extended to him. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia. Interment will be private.
