Carl Otto Horst, age 86, of Midlothian, formerly of Amelia, passed from this life on June 7, 2025 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents; Carl August Horst and Susan Ada Smith Horst, and his first wife Myrtle Lee Horst, brother, Henry Horst, and granddaughter, Abigail Kristine Gebo. He is survived by his wife; Joan Horst, daughters, Debbie Leist (Steve), Melinda Mulkey (Mike) and Jennifer Smith (Tim), grandchildren, Kyrie Mulkey (Tim), Ethan Mulkey, Kiersten Mulkey , Michael Mulkey, Sarah Smith (Noah), and Jesse Smith, great grandchildren, Luke Carter, Odin Carter, Levi Gebo, Christopher Rowland, and sisters; Manda Gravley (Rick) and Elsie Paulette (Kenny). Carl was a proud veteran of the US Navy having served a six year term. Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Saturday June 14, 2025 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia with burial following in the Amelia Presbyterian Cemetery
