Carl Lee Sommerville, age 76, departed from this life on May 1, 2014 after a valiant two year struggle with lung cancer.  Carl was born in Elkins, WV, on March 11, 1938, the son of the late Roswell and Ruth Sommerville  of Elkins, WV.  Carl is survived by his son Mark Lee Sommerville of Chapel Hill NC,  grandson John Craig Sommerville of Richmond, VA,  granddaughter Beth Rose Lorden of Durham NC, and loving Fiance Diane Bell of Amelia Virginia.  Carl is survived by two brothers, Frank Summerville of Greenwell Springs, LA and Bruce Sommerville of Mosely, Virginia; and by three sisters, Ruth Lynn Schoonover, of Elkins, WV;  Hilda McWilliams, of Beverly, WVa; and Linda Marsh of Philippi, WV.

He was employed as a salesman for the Frito Lay Company and as a manager for Styles Bi-Rite for many years.  Carl immensely enjoyed his beagle dogs and hunting with his friends. He raised rabbits, chickens and cows on his minifarm in Amelia. On Sunday May 4 ^th members of Amelia Lodge 101 will conduct services at 6PM, followed by a viewing and reception, then funeral Service 8PM at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia.  Burial will be at 11AM on Monday in Dale Memorial Park Chesterfield, Va.  Condolences at www.hillsmanhix.com .
