It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cecile Mitchell Jones, a beloved member of the Amelia community, who passed away on March 14, 2024, from natural causes at the age of 89. Cecile was born on November 29, 1934, and lived a long and fulfilling life surrounded by nature in her cherished log cabin on a serene pond in Amelia. Cecile was preceded in death by her husband William Ernest "Ernie" Jones and son Curtis Alan Jones. She is survived by her son Mark (Kim), grandchildren Steven (Kimber), Christopher (Heather) and Lucas (Brandi), and great-grandson Chase. Visitation will be held at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home in Amelia on April 5, 2024, at 1:00 and service to follow at 2:00. Interment will be held privately at a later date, she will rest with her husband Ernie at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia
