Cecile Hyde Saunders, age 95, of Amelia, joined her husband in heaven on October 8, 2011. Cecile was born August 12, 1916 to Ben and Thelma Hyde. She taught school in Warren, Amelia, and Chesterfield counties and retired from Chesterfield in 1977 with 30 years of service. She will be fondly remembered as a teacher who cared deeply for her students. Her love of life and her sense of humor made her a great joy to her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra S. Wade (Robert) and Pat S. Taylor (Dennis), four grandchildren, Jay Wade (Samantha), Clark Wade (Joy), Elizabeth W. Elliott (Tony), and Adaire W. Eanes (Steve), five great-grandchildren, Scott Wade, Kyle Wade, Courtney Wade, Morgan Wade, and Emily Eanes, two step-grandchildren, five step great- grandchildren, and a sister, Helen W. Bowman, She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph M. Saunders, and a brother, Franklin Hyde. The family will receive friends at the family home at 11120 Genito Road in Amelia from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday 11AM at Piedmont Baptist Church with interment following in Pine Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to either Piedmont Baptist Church or the Amelia Emergency Squad.
