Obituary

Corbie Clyde Bishop, Jr. went to be with his loving Lord on June 19, 2010 after an extended illness. Born in Amelia on October 12, 1930, he was the only child of Corbie and Annie Bishop. He graduated from Amelia High School and worked with his father on the farm until he went into the army in November 1953. He retired from Yellow Freight in Charlotte, NC in 1992. Moved back to his hometown of Amelia in 1996. He was a long time member of Rennie Memorial Presbyterian Church, a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Mooresville, NC and is a member of Amelia Baptist Church . He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley White Bishop; two daughters, Marsha Busic and Gwyneth Parsons (Robbie); two grandchildren, Daniel Parsons (Michelle) and Nichole Parsons; two great grandchildren Austin and Alexis. Visitation from 6-8 at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home in Amelia on Monday June 21, 2010. Funeral services at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Amelia Baptist Church with burial in Rennie Memorial Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Amelia Rescue Squad or charity of your choice.
