David Spencer Gough, age 72, of Amelia, passed away on October 2, 2014.  He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Pearl, brother Charles and sister Arnette Harlin.  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Bultje; son Roy David "Bubba" and his wife Jennifer and daughter Penny; grandchildren Spencer and Skylar; brothers Paul (Christine), W.C. "Buck", Jr. (Rhonda), and John Wesley "Buster" (Donna); sisters Shirley Gough of Chesterfield, June Dawson of Amelia, Judy Smith (Denny), Bonnie Johnson (Larry) of Bedford; and numerous nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends on Friday October 3, from 6-8 p.m. at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia.  A church service is scheduled for Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Amelia Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Contributions may be made in his memory to Amelia Presbyterian Church.
