IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald Wayne
Adams
September 15, 1937 – December 1, 2025
Donald Wayne Adams, 88, passed away on December 1, 2025.
He retired from Overnite Transportation as an over the road driver truck driver. After retirement he worked for various companies including Goodman Truck and Tractor, Amelia Overhead Door, and Richmond International Raceway.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elaine, two daughters, Donna Morris (Gary) and Debra Adams (Tony), four grandchildren, April Tripp (Richard), Caroline Stargardt (Scott), Adam Morris and Houston Morris. Seven great-grandchildren, Austin, Ava, Logan, Oliver, Toney Regan, Caleb, and Izabella. He is also survived by his siblings, Joanne Haynes, Jeanette MacDonald, Tommy Adams (Nena) and Larry Adams, all of North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Donald was a long-time member of and master of the Amelia Masonic Lodge, No 101 AF and AM. He was instrumental in starting the monthly community pancake breakfast. For many years he was the man behind the barbeque pit.
Donald was happiest surrounded by family or driving his Mack truck down the highway. His love of Dale Earnhart and NASCAR filled many Saturday afternoons. Springtime found him putting a garden, pruning grapevines and mowing the lawn.
While Donald was not a church-goer, he held a strong belief in God and knew he was bound for heaven.
He will be profoundly missed by those who love him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Amelia Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund.
