Doris Jean Jones Barden of Chesterfield, VA, formerly of Amelia, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 13, 2020.  She was born February 5, 1936 in Amelia, VA to the late Harold and Mattie Jones.  She was employed by the US Postal Service and retired after 20+ years.  She enjoyed travelling and had visited every US state, and Canada as well.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Emmalee Moore and one brother Henry Jones.  Doris leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Michael Barden of Crewe, VA, Timothy Barden of Amelia, VA, and Jeffrey Barden (Tina) of Powhatan, VA; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister Mitzie Flippin (Dickie) of Amelia, VA; two brothers, Sidney Jones (Judy) of Chesterfield, VA and Tim Jones (Betty) of Amelia, VA.  A private graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday January 16, 2020.  Visitation with the family will be held from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday January 16, 2020 at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia.
