Dottie Jean Brown Applegate, born May 31st 1934, departed this life on November 19, 2021 at age 87. She was preceded in death by her parents  Eugene Brown, Sr. and Earlor Mae Brown, husband Neal Applegate Jr., brother Addison Brown , sisters Ann Lucas and Elva Aaron. She is survived by her brother David W. Brown, Sr. (Carol), sons Clyde Tomlinson aka Applegate (Sherry) and Neal Applegate, Jr.; daughter Debra Applegate Crenshaw Robert Crenshaw, grandchildren Nicole Patterson, Cassie Spradlin, Robbie Crenshaw and Kelly Bates, eleven great-grandchildren and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Dottie lived a long and happy life. She held many professional titles throughout her lifetime. She was fun to be around, very intelligent and loved people. She was loved very much and will be dearly missed. A viewing will be held on Monday November 22, at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia, from 6-8:00 p.m. A church service will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday November 23, at Union Baptist Church on Genito Rd
