Douglas Wayne Bishop, age 57, of Mechanicsville, Va., passed from this life on March 7, 2019.  He is preceded in death by his father Robert Allen Bishop, Sr., and his brother James Bishop, and is survived by his mother Betty Woodel Dean (Bradley) of Jetersville; his former wife Pat Mills; daughter Stephanie Banks of Amelia; son Steven Wayne Bishop of Mechanicsville; sisters Judy Borkey of Crewe, and Lisa Powers of Chesapeake, VA; his brother Robert Allen Bishop, Jr. of New Kent; nephews Shane Borkey and Joshua Powers and niece Jessica Powers.  Douglas was an auto mechanic and painter prior to his illness. Funeral services will be held at 3PM on Sunday March 10, 2019 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia, Va. with burial in Rennie Memorial Cemetery.  The family will have visiting prior to the funeral from 1:00PM-3:00.  Condolences at www.hillsmanhix.com
