Douglas MacArthur Handy, Sr., age 66, of Amelia, passed away on January 14, 2009. He is survived by his wife Sandra, son Douglas McArthur Handy Jr. of Amelia; brothers Curtis Handy of Farmville, Aubrey Handy of Hampton, Dickie Handy of Amelia; sisters Josephine Alston of Mechanicsville, Joan Hastings of Amelia, Jean Lewis of Blackstone and Rita Crawley of Rice. The family will receive friends on Thursday January 15 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 164090 Court St. Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Friday January 16 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rennie Memorial Cemetery.
