Douglas Wesley Rudd, age 80, of Amelia went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2016.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Wimer C. Rudd and Nettie W. Rudd, sister, Alice Whitaker, brother Worsham Rudd and niece Kitty W. Mann.  He is survived by his wife, Claudine M. Rudd, nieces, Edith Whitaker, Judy W. Morris (Jerry), nephews, Paul B. Whitaker (Jenni), W. Douglas Rudd (Cissy) and James C. Rudd (Bonnie) many great nieces and nephews.  Funeral services 3:00PM on Sunday May 15, at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia with burial following in Moore's Methodist Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors from 1:00-3:00PM prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to either Amelia Baptist Church or the Amelia Rescue Squad % of PO Box 758 Amelia, Va. 23002.
