Armistead, Edward Samuel, Jr. (Sam) - 64 yrs old of Amelia, Va. passed away peacefully on August 23, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital with family and friends by his side. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward S. Armistead, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Jeanette Armistead of Amelia, brother, Mike Armistead (wife Janet) of Seymour, Tennessee, sister, Susan A. Moore (husband Gary) of Chesterfield, Va, and sister Joy Garrett of Walton, NY; nephews Chris Moore, Michael Armistead Jr. (wife Erica), Joseph Armistead (wife Kristin), and James Moore; uncle James T. Warren, and cousin Jimmy Warren. He is also survived by great nephews Wyatt Armistead and Waylon Moore.   The family will receive friends on Friday, August 25 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home in Amelia, Va.  Graveside services will be Saturday, August 26 at 11:00 am at Rennie Memorial Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow at the church.
