Elbert F. Austin, age 80, of South Hill formerly of Amelia, passed from this life on Feb. 11, 2013.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Fay and son, Edward, and is survived by sons, Timothy, Richard and David all of South Hill, John of Victoria a daughter, Ethel Cochran of Newport, N. C., brothers, William and James of Crewe, and Vernon of Green Bay, sisters, Myrtle Elliott, Joyce Campbell, Juanita Felts all of Crewe, Jean Brandon of Church Rd., and Wanda Reese of Blackstone, eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.  Funeral services 11AM on Saturday  at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court  St. in Amelia, with burial in Trinity Memorial Gardens.  Visiting at the funeral home Friday   6-8PM.
