Elbert Ray Braswell, age 84 of Amelia, went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2022. He is survived by his wife Brenda; children Debbie Fulcher of McKenney, Karen Ellis of Midlothian, and Chris Braswell of Amelia; grandchildren Tim Braswell, Jordan Ellis and Colin Ellis.  He is preceded in death by his son; Mike Braswell. Elbert was a US Army Veteran, a retired minister for Amelia Church of God and he worked in the Norfolk Navy Shipyards.  The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 24 at Amelia Church of God, 18501 W. Pridesville Rd. in Amelia.  A church service at 12 noon at the church will conclude with interment at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
