Ellis Adkins, age 93, of Ford, VA passed away on February 3, 2016.  He is preceded in death by his wife Annie Francis Adkins and is survived by daughters Karen Simpson of Henrico and Connie Peck (Jerry) of Amelia; grandchildren Amanda Simpson and Shannon VanFossen (Lucas); great-grandchildren Lucas Dylan VanFossen, Riley Elizabeth VanFossen, Brody Ellis VanFossen and a future great grandchild due in July. Mr. Adkins retired after 30 years at Reynolds Metals and also was a WWII Navy Veteran. A Chapel service is set for Friday February 5, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia, with burial to follow at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery with military honors.  The family will receive friends from 1:00PM. till 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
