Emily Royster Toombs, age 89 of Amelia, went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2016.  She is predeceased by her husband, Carl Russell Toombs, her parents, Robert Edison Royster, Sr., and Lizzie-Mae Lowman Royster of Lunenburg County,  and is survived by her son, David(Pam) of Chester, and daughter Carol Gibson(Bert)  of Amelia, and three grandchildren, Amanda Stroop, David Toombs, II, Wendy Holland; sister Frances Adams of Fredericksburg and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held on Friday May 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm. at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia.  Interment private.  The family with receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00-2:00p.m. at the funeral home and will gather at Tabernacle UMC for fellowship after the service.  Contributions maybe made to either Tabernacle UMC or charity of choice.
