Frances Hastings Smith, age 88, went to be with her Lord, and her late husband, William E. Smith, on Wednesday, May 6, the date of their 70th wedding anniversary.  She was also predeceased by her son, Ronald Smith, and brother, Bernard Hastings.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sandra Austin of Burkeville, Penny Robertson (Randy) of Amelia, and Donna Wright of Chesterfield; grandchildren Jeff (Stephanie), Matt (Laura), and Mark Austin, Daniel Robertson, Cindy Moore (David), Sherry Wright-Jeter (Terrence), Stacy Powell (Jason) and Tana McCoull (Chad), and 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Hastings (Joan); sisters, Lucille Elder (James) and Doris Webb; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins; also caregivers Laura Harris and Lucy Jackson.   A private graveside service will be held on Saturday May 9 at Rennie Memorial Church Cemetery.  Friends are encouraged to sign the guestbook at www.hillsmanhix.com in lieu of signing at the funeral home.
