March 11, 1920 – December 22, 2009
Frances Anderson Smith, age 89, a resident of Homestead Hills in Winston Salem, North Carolina and formerly of Amelia CH, Virginia, died Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Richard and Anna Guthrie Anderson of Nathalie, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Lynwood Smith, and her brother Dewey Anderson (Margaret). She was a loving mother to three daughters: Anne Stupka (Rusty), Rebecca Rose (Leslie), and Kathryn Chadbourne (Alan), and a wonderful grandmother to six grandchildren: Alexander Stupka (Nicola), Ellen Stupka, Jean Frances Rose, Sarah Rose, Rebecca Rose, and Isabel Rose. She was also survived by a sister-in-law, Lucy Nichols (Alfred), and a nephew Kenneth Anderson. Frances was a member of Amelia Baptist Church and a lifelong contributor to her church and community. She loved and was loved by all who knew her. Frances wish would be for everyone to be with their family on Christmas Eve, so a small private service will be held at Amelia Baptist Church on December 24th at 11:00am. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff at Homestead Hills and the 7th floor Surgical Unit at Forsyth Hospital for the special care and attention given to their Mother
