Frederick Lee Toney, 80, of Jetersville, VA. went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 13, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents Beecher and Thelma Toney.  Surviving is his wife Gail Yeatts Toney, his daughter Theresa Haag (Charles), son Shawn (Samantha) all of Moseley, VA., step-daughter Penelope Pugh (Raymond) of Nags Head, NC. He is also survived by his grandchildren Justin Toney (Sarah Smith), Travis Carraway, Megan George (Darnell), Hunter Carraway (Becky Price), Bryce and Madison Pugh. Also survived by brothers-in-laws: Ronald E. and Maria Yeatts, of Early, Texas, and John T. Summers and Felicia of Lubbock, Texas.   Fred also leaves behind two great grandsons, Ezekiel and Ezra George. Also surviving are his aunts Patty Epps and Judith Blackwell.  Fred leaves several other very special people: Donna Rowland Lucas, Jessica Bayne, Mathias Findley, Theresa Saletnik, Lynn Hawthorne, Judith Spivey, Linda Loving (the mother of his children) and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. A special thank you to James River Home Health and Hospice, especially Jen, Allie, and Alesha #1.

Fred was retired from E.I. DuPont Spruance Plant as a pipefitter after 30 years. He also proudly served in the United States Marines.  He was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Jetersville, VA., where he shared the love of Jesus Christ with his church family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Hillsman - Hix Funeral Home in Amelia, Virginia. Visitation from 12:00 -1:00, Celebration of Life at 1:00 and lite lunch at Journey Community Center will follow immediately after.

A private burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Sandy Creek Baptist Church building fund, American Cancer Society or the Lung Foundation.
