Garland S. Goodwin, age 62, of Amelia, passed from this life on April 2, 2010. He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel H. Goodwin and is survived by his mother, Ella, sister, Judy Koch and her husband Charles Koch, Jr. of Midlothian, and brother, Avery Goodwin and friend Lucy White of Richmond and Chester, nieces, Dawn and husband Brian Milton of Chesterfield, Sarah Goodwin of Dillwyn, Ashley Goodwin of Charlotte, N. C., grand nephews, Cameron Jarrell, and Donald Jarrell. He worked at Levi Strauss of Blackstone and GBC of Amelia, Powhatan and Chesterfield Schools. Funeral services 11AM on Monday April 5, at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court Street with burial following in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home Sunday 6:00-8:00PM.
