Gary Eugene Isham, age 64, of Dillwyn, formerly of Springfield, VA, passed from this life on September 3, 2011. A member of the First Cavalry 1/7th, he was awarded the Bronze Star for Services rendered during combat in Vietnam. He is survived by his daughter Sara Isham of Richmond, VA; son Joseph Isham of Dillwyn, Va.; mother, Nancy Isham of Cumming, GA; sister, Diane Campbell of Keyesville, VA; sister Peggy Audette of Cumming, GA; and brother, Brad Isham of Amissville, VA. A gathering is to be held on Friday September 9, 2011from 1-3:00 p.m at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia with interment of his ashes in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery with military honors at 3:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Judes Children Hospital.
