On Sunday 19 March 2023, Gladys (Sunny) Georgina Collette, a beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away. She was seventy-five years old. She was raised by her great Uncle and Aunt, John (Jack) and Julia Thompson on Appleton St, Lowell, Massachusetts. After graduating from Lowell High School, she began her career in the Massachusetts Department of Corrections and retired from the Virginia Department of Corrections in 2010.

Sunny was extremely active at her local parish, Arbor Baptist Church in Amelia, Virginia.  Sunny was always happiest when surrounded by her family and friends.  When she cannot be found with family, she loved watching her favorite shows, Good Morning America, Young and the Restless, and Jeopardy.

Sunny was predeceased by her sister Jackie Lindsey.  She is survived by her Sisters Janet Melvin, Karen MacDermod; Brother William (Billy) Cantrell; Her Children, Ken Collette and Tracy Paterson; nine Grandchildren, and six Great Grandchildren.  Visitation will be held on Monday March 27 2023 from 1-2:00 PM, and the funeral at 2:00 PM at Arbor Baptist Church 13701 Butlers Rd, Amelia Court House, VA 23002.
