Gladys Marie Lipscomb Bennett went Home to be with her Lord on March 30, 2023. She is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Ellsworth James (Jim) Bennett, and three children, Sandra Bennett, Steve (Gwen) Bennett and Stephanie (Walter) Townsend. She has two grandsons Jerry Wayne (Katie) Williams, Jr. and Dustin (April) Williams. Gladys has four great-grandchildren Kinsley, Avery, Mason and Ellison (Ellie). She is predeceased by her parents Oscar and Margaret Lipscomb and sister Rena Lynn.

Gladys was born in Buena Vista, VA on October 27, 1934 to Oscar and Margaret Lipscomb. She was educated at John Marshall High School and John Tyler Community College. She was a homemaker for her children's early years and then worked at VA Division of Motor Vehicles where she retired. She faithfully  attended Southside Church of the Nazarene.

The family suggest memorial contributions may be made to the Amelia County Volunteer Fire Department Number 5 of Paineville, VA. She was instrumental in the building of that fire department which serves the entire community.

The family especially is grateful to her caregivers Torie and Ryan Atkins at Windy Hill Retreat and Amanda Stables and Suncrest Hospice.
