ANDERSON, Gonjoe age 91 of Amelia Co. (Namozine) departed this life on November 28, 2010. Born Jan. 11, 1919 in Patrick Co. Va, son of the late Walter Burton and Martha Fannie Anderson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Mabel Berrier Anderson; his devoted children Deborah A. Orr (Wayne), Dane Keith Anderson (Beverly), Jeffrey Brian Anderson(Beth), all of Amelia Va., Susan A. Watkins (Maxwell) of Sutherland, VA. Six grandchildren Chris Orr (Shanna), Mark Orr (Shelly), Nick Watkins, Cody Watkins,Elizabeth A. Goodwin (Abbitt) and Brandy Anderson; Six great grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews. He was the owner / proprietor of Namozine Country Store from 1949 to 2010, he was a member of Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church, Amelia Masonic Lodge 101, and Crater Antique Car Club. He was an avid collector of antique cars and gasoline engines, as well as all things antique. He enjoyed many years of farming and raising cattle on his farms in Amelia Co. To know Gonjoe was to love him. This world will be a little dimmer without his bright light shining in it. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 1 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Little Flock Cemetery with Masonic services.
