Helen Irene Moore, age 73, of Amelia, passed away on October 29, 2014.  She is survived by her husband Welford Mason Moore, Jr.; sons Welford Moore III of North Carolina and David Moore of Amelia; daughters Rebecca Sharpe of Chester, Mary Moore of Louisa and Tammy Oakes of Kenbridge; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren; brothers James Murphy of Richmond, and Robert Murphy of Highland Springs; sisters Alice Atkins of Highland Springs.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday November 2 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia.  Funeral services are set for 1:30 p.m. on Monday November 3 at the funeral home with burial to follow at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
