Henry J. Brissette, Jr., age 84, of Amelia passed from this life on April 30, 2016.  He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret "Peggy" Brissette, and his son, Henry III, and is survived by his son, Daniel (Teresa) of Amelia, daughter Carol Brissette of Henrico; and his devoted companion Effie Ford, and his extended family Julie Pretko, step daughter, Julia Watson  six grandchildren and one great grandchild.  The family will receive friends on Monday May 9, 2016 from 5-7:00 pm at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday  May 10, 2016 at 11 am at Good Samaritan Catholic Church, 13441 Patrick Henry Hwy. in Amelia followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall.  A private burial will follow the reception at Dale Memorial Park in Chesterfield, Va. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
