Hester Louise Carpenter, age 87, of Amelia, Va. passed from this life on January 14, 2013.  She was born on June 12, 1925 in Greenville, South Carolina to Louise and Robert B. Carpenter, Sr.   She was graduated from Thomasville High School and received her degree from Winthrup College.  She retired after 50 years with Wachovia Bank and was an active member of the Memorial UMC, serving as Treasurer of the Thomasville district.  She is survived by her brother,  Robert B. Carpenter, Jr. of Amelia, Va. and three nieces, Lee Harrizanoff, Cathy Bear and June Carpenter.  A memorial serivce will be held at Memorial UMC in Thomasville, N.C. at a later date.  She will be buried privately with her parents in Easley, South Carolina at Antioch UMC Cemetery.
