Iris Payne Rice, age 90, of Powhatan, passed away on February 28, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband Letcher Lee Rice, and is survived by her sons, Steven Rice Sr. of Amelia and Stanley Lee Rice of NC; brother Carson Payne of Charlottesville; sister Nancy Gay of Richmond; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 2 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia, followed by a chapel service at 12 noon. Interment will be at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery.
