James Arthur Bain, age 78, of Rice, VA, went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2013.  He is preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia and is survived by his wife, Jeraldine, sons Paul of Aylett, NC and James of Palmyra, VA; daughter, Cynthia Gail Howard of Chesapeake, VA; sisters Lila Cass and Elma Belflowers both of Wade, NC, Christine Murphy of Farmville, NC, and Carleen Nixon of Decauter, TN; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.  Funeral services 2PM on Tuesday August 6, 2013 at Jetersville Baptist Church in Jetersville, VA with burial in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia with military honors.  Visiting at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia on Monday from 6-8PM.  .
