James E. Godsey, Sr. of Rice, VA passed away on September 4, 2011. He is survived by his wife Catherine; sons James Godsey, Jr. (Joann) of Chester, Jeffrey Godsey (Betsy) of Midlothian, and Anthony Godsey (Leann) of Amelia; daughter Cynthia Curtis (Kevin) of Louisa; father-in-law Richard Baird; and close friend Jim Mathews, sisters Mary Lou Kahn of Lynchburg and Patsy Toney of Chesterfield; and grandchildren, Shaun (Tiffany), Amanda, Jonathan, Eric, Jennifer, Taylor, Ben, Savannah, and Cameron. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6pm to 8pm at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court Street, Amelia VA with the funeral service on Thursday, at 11am at the funeral home with interment following at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.
