James L. (Jimmy) Berger, age 64, of Amelia passed from this life on Dec. 2, 2008 at MCV in Richmond. He was born August 4, 1944, son of Robert and Patsy Berger of Powhatan. He is survived by his wife, Brenda F. Berger, two sisters, Marie B. Vaughan of Farmville, Norma J. Combs of Cumberland, one brother, David L. Berger of North Carolina, several nieces and nephews and three step sons Tim of Fork Union, Greg of Richmond and Shane of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Barbara B. Sullivan and his first wife Diana Mills Berger. A memorial service will be held on Friday Dec. 5. 2008 at 12noon at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home in Amelia. Interment is private
