James Leroy Midkiff, age 71, of Amelia passed from this life on June 24, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. and Sarah Easter Midkiff and is survived by his brother, Robert P. "Bud" Midkiff of Amelia, and two sisters, Virginia Elliott of Amelia, and Joyce Johnson of Keysville.  Leroy loved people and was a friend to many and was adored by his many nieces and nephews.  He also loved country and bluegrass music and was usually a daily coffee chat caller on WSVS in Crewe.  Funeral services are scheduled for 11AM on Saturday June 27, 2015 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia with burial following in the Salem UMC Church Cemetery.  Visiting at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00-8:00PM.
