James C. Moler, age 85, of Amelia, passed away on April 4, 2013. After retiring from the US Navy, he worked for the USPS before retiring as a farmer. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Moler and daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Lawrence Alley. He is survived by his sons, James Leslie "Les" Moler (Gwen) of Amelia and Wayne Henry Moler (Teresa) of FL; grandchildren Jason (Becky), Janet (Mike), and Phillip (Cheryl); great grandchildren James, Luke, Ben and Alex; and a special friend Frances Anderson. A Masonic service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7 at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St., to be followed by visitation with the family from 6:30-8:00 p.m. A Chapel service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8 at the funeral home with burial with military honors to follow at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Amelia Masonic Lodge for the support of the Masonic Home
