James Walter Woodel, age 80 of Pamplin, VA, formerlry of Amelia, passed away on June 2, 2017.  He is survived by his wife Vivian Lynch Woodel; sons Eddie (Mary Ann) of Pamplin, and Tommy (Julie) of Richmond; daughter Patricia Kennedy (Mark) of Pamplin; sister Kate Lynch of Chesterfield, Frances Lynch of South Hill and Betty Dean (Bradley) of Jetersville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Saturday June 3, 2017 at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia.  Funeral Services are 3:00 p.m. on Sunday June 4 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Rennie Memorial Cemetery.
