Jane Glass Anderson, aged 92, passed away on October 29, 2024, at her home in Amelia, VA. Born on August 14, 1932 in Fork Union, VA (and later residing in Marshall and Timberville), Jane dedicated much of her life to serving her community and her church. She was a respected figure in Amelia County, where she worked as a secretary to the School Board, Clerk of Courts, and Clerk of Juvenile Probation Office. Her commitment to her roles was evident in her meticulous work and the deep trust she earned from her colleagues and the community.

A devout member of Amelia Baptist Church, Jane served as a Sunday School teacher for 50 years and was deeply involved in various church activities. She held the role of financial secretary for 39 years, was in the choir, and actively participated in the Women's Circle, Women's Missionary Union, and Girl's Auxiliary. Her faith and dedication to her church community were profound and unwavering.

Jane also found joy in the Amelia Garden Club, where she shared her love for gardening with friends and neighbors, contributing to the beautification of her community.

Jane leaves behind her loving husband, Warren Anderson, and is survived by nieces Kay Amos, Teresa Gregoire, and Doris Roberts, and nephew Tony Gentry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lilla Glass; her sisters Nellie Gentry and Virginia Gentry; and her brothers Raymond Glass and Hollis Glass. She was also preceded by nephews Greg Gentry, Robert Roberts and Raymond Glass, Jr.

Visitation will be held at Hillsman Hix Funeral Home, Amelia, from 6-8 pm Monday November 4. The funeral will follow at 11 am Tuesday at Amelia Baptist Church.
