Jefferson Lafayette Dillard, age 88, of Amelia went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2021.   He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Kay, sister, Jessie Williams of Amelia, brother, Larry Dillard (Jean) and many nieces and nephews.  He was a US Army Veteran of Korea having received three bronze stars and was a 54 year member of New Hope Baptist Church in Tennessee.  He is preceded in death  by his parents; Ernest and Mary Jane Dillard, brothers, Garfield, Ronald and Danny Dillard.  Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday March 23, 2021 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia with burial following at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery with military honors.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11AM.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Amelia Rescue Squad in Jefferson's name.
