It is with heavy hearts but warm memories that we announce the passing of Jerry DeWayne Little, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born on April 21, 1952, in Amelia County, Virginia, Jerry's journey on this earth came to a peaceful close on September 16, 2025, at the age of 73. He touched the lives of many, from his family to those he worked alongside as a dedicated heavy machine operator in the railroad industry with Cranemasters.A proud U.S. Army veteran, Jerry served his country during the Vietnam War, where he exemplified courage and commitment. His service spanned from August 27, 1970, until May 29, 1973, achieving the rank of Specialist 5. His time in the military reflected a strong sense of duty and love for his country, a quality he carried into every aspect of his life.Jerry was the loving husband of Vicky Little and a devoted father to his cherished daughter, Jeri Little-Lloyd and his step children, Chris Jester (Holly), Bobby Lowe (Catina), Adam Jester (Ashley), BJ Lowe, Deceased (Maya), and Lacie Garone. He took great pride in his role as a grandfather, leaving a legacy of love and laughter to his many grandchildren: Chase, Jonah, Luke, Marlee, Kaylee, Braxton, Adam Jr., Layla, EJ, Neenah, Daniel, Leanna, Brittney, and Ayden. The joy he brought into their lives will be forever remembered, and his spirit will continue to live on through each of them.In honor of Jerry's life and military service, a memorial service will be held at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia on September 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM. We invite family and friends to come together to share stories, celebrate his life, and offer each other comfort as we remember the amazing man he was. Following the service, Jerry will be laid to rest among his fellow veterans.As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Jerry not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the moments shared, the lessons taught, and the love that he instilled in all who knew him. He fully embodied the spirit of resilience, friendship, and joy, and his spirit will always be a part of our lives.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you celebrate his life by spending time with loved ones and sharing stories that brought smiles to his face.
