Jerry L. Smith, age 66, of Amelia, passed away on March 5, 2012. He is survived by his wife Jean; sons Dean and Jerry Jr., both of Amelia; brother Roger Smith of NC and five grandchildren, Samantha, Tripp, Jack, James and Reilly. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 6, 2012 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia. A chapel service will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7 with burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Blackstone. Contributions may be made to the Amelia Volunteer Fire Dept. or Amelia Rescue Squad.
