John L. Dobbs, age 70, of Amelia, passed from this life on March 1, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Shirley H., his son, Allen and his wife Donna of Dillwyn, brother, Bill and wife Lill of Mobile, Ala., sister, Julia Wilson of Georgia, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a brother, Forrest. Funeral services 11AM Thursday March 5, at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia with burial in Piedmont Baptist Church.
