John Edward Mathews, Jr., age 63, of Amelia, passed away on September 12, 2019.  He is preceded in death by his parents, John Edward Mathews, Sr., and Mary Louella Borders.  He is survived by his wife, Jackie; his children, Jessica Mathews and Erik Mathews (Brandy); and grandchildren Dylan, Selena, John Erik, Kaelyn, Kensley, and Bailee.  A memorial service will be held on September 29, 2019, at 2 o'clock at the Amelia Veterans Center.  Contributions may be made in remembrance to the Amelia County Parks and Recreation Department.
