John Raymond Sims, Jr., age 82, of Moseley, passed away Sunday, August 10. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mozelle H. and daughters, Peggy Morgan and husband Gary, and Frances S. Winfree and husband Bruce; grandchildren Brian Morgan and wife Christina, granddaughter Laurie M. Johnson and husband Staff Sgt. Christopher Johnson; five great-grandchildren; his brother William T. Sims and sister Shirley S. Yates; special friends, Bob Combs and Ray Latham. Mr. Sims retired from the Chesterfield County Water Treatment Plant, Swift Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Sims Sr. and Annie H. Sims. Family will receive friends from 4-8:00 p.m. Tuesday August 12 at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St., Amelia, VA 23002. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday August 13 at Skinquarter Baptist Church, 6900 Moseley Rd., Moseley, VA 23120. Interment at Skinquarter Cemetery.
