John Young Southall, Jr. age 88, of Jetersville, Va. passed from this life on Sept. 8, 2016 at the Woodlands of Farmville.   Jack was a US Navy Veteran of the WWII era and was a retired Systems  Programmer for the State of Maryland.  Jack also was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Jetersville.   He is preceded in death by his father, John Young Southall, Sr. and his mother, Mary Walker Southall and is survived by his nephews, Thomas K. Hemmick of New York and Douglas L. Hemmick of Maryland.  A memorial service will be held at 3PM on Saturday Sept. 10, 2016 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia, Va. 23002.  Interment will take place later at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia.
