Joseph "Joe" T. Echols, departed this life on January 27, 2019 for his heavenly home. Joe is survived by his wife of 42 years, Faye Echols.  He is also survived by a very special nephew, William Fitzgerald whom they raised as their own. Also surviving are his sister Ann (Steve) Jenkins and brother Larry Echols.  Joe was loved by so many for his jokes and storytelling by his remaining family and friends, including his closest friend to the end of his journey, Russell (Frog) Bryant.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 30 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday January 31 at the funeral home with private interment to follow.
